On September 28th, Cătălin Bordei, Managing Partner at Innobyte, spoke at the 7th edition of the Profit eCommerce Conference, where Innobyte was also an official event partner.
During his panel, Cătălin highlighted key technical and strategic imperatives for online merchants preparing for Q4:
- High stakes for Q4: Q4 generates 40% to 60% of annual eCommerce sales, making full platform stability critical—especially as market growth slows from double-digit to single-digit rates.
- Mandatory payment methods: Integrating digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay) and options like Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) is no longer optional. Missing these checkout features creates a major competitive disadvantage and leads directly to lost customers.
- Cost of downtime: Even a few hours of partial technical instability during peak traffic spikes can result in massive financial and reputational damage, effectively wasting heavy investments in paid acquisition traffic.
- Business-driven tech adoption: Companies shouldn’t adopt new technologies for their own sake. Tech decisions must address concrete business needs by either increasing revenue or reducing operational costs.
