NAVISP (Navigation Innovation and Support Programme) is a new European Space Agency (ESA) programme in Navigation to foster innovation and competitiveness of European industry.

In 2015, ESA chose us to develop their European Space Software Repository (ESSR), an information web portal to promote reuse of Software, including Open Source Software. Since our collaboration was a great success for both parties, we were thrilled when they decided to choose us as their partner to develop another 2 projects for ESA, swingby and NAVISP.

In 2017, we started to develop NAVISP platform, from scratch, and Symfony was the right solution for ESA’s custom needs. We also used several technologies, such as MySQL, ElasticSearch/SOLR, PHP7, NGINX and MemCache.

The NAVISP Web Portal is a gateway meant to inform stakeholders, such as member states, research centers, industries and institutions, facilitating the outreach of the programme and the interaction with NAVISP stakeholders. The main NAVISP objective is to facilitate and support the generation of innovative propositions that go beyond the exclusive use of satellite navigation signals and data and include the development of competitive industrial capabilities and the development of new, innovative technologies to complement, upgrade or replace current PNT technologies.

ESA developed with Innobyte the web portal “navisp.esa.int” for the new Navigation Innovation and Support Programme as an instrument of outreach, promotion and interaction with the stakeholders of the Positioning Navigation and Timing European ecosystem. Working with Innobyte was a pleasure. Innobyte has a high customer oriented mentality.
